Description
Dawn patrol conditions in San Diego, offer up some of the cleanest surf during the winter period. The wind stays low until the afternoon and if we're lucky, the tides cooperate at our favorite spots. For us documenting in lieu of sliding on the waves, also means dealing with quickly changing dynamic lighting conditions. Silhouettes can be harsh, yet also deliver an opportunity to focus on forms. Here is one of the many less violent forms imbued in a haze of purple--a scene I see over and over in my mind, reminiscing of the forms that take off near my camera lens.
